Wolfen, from 1981, is a horror/thriller film from director Michael Wadleigh (probably best known for making the famous documentary about the original Woodstock music festival). It's a sort of urban werewolf movie, although not quite, and it stars the redoubtable Albert Finney. It also happens to be the subject of what I'm fairly sure was the first piece of film criticism I ever wrote, during a residency at the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
That piece was published in a venue called Jump Cut, and it can be found here.
